1947 was an End of Indian History ??

Weekends are curse and bless both for me these days .... some times they make me bored like hell but more often they are blessing and  start with Yo Yo Friday night and make me feel alive :P  :) :) but there is a third category of weekends which just stop me and I  think about some thing ..some thing I never thought before or some thing may be I overlooked in the past. I don't know why I never thought about these things before or why I am thinking them now but it  force me to start asking questions to myself. One question I am asking today myself why I know more about Kabir Das,  a poet who wrote some good poems around 500 years back but I don't know that much about Indira Gandhi who was awarded "Woman of the Millennium"by BBC but still in India most political parties name her as "Democracy Killer" ? Every one know about Satyagraha of  Mahatma Gandhi but still so little knowledge in public domain about  Jayparkash Narayn who fought another battle for Democracy even in Democratic Republic India.
There are so many questions and when I recall my history books of high school I don't see any answer but in opposite it arise another question "Why all our history books end with 1947" ? " Does what happened in last 60 years really don't matter to us or we don't want our next generations to know about so many of our failures in Democratic and Republic India" ? I downloaded some syllabus books pdfs and hardly I found they have much details about last 60 years ... Few books have 1-2 chapter named on the Prime Ministers of Republic India but even these chapter  only say about where those were born and when they died but no one tell about their policies and their failures and even some sweetness of Success.  We had fought 4 wars , faced nation wide emergency , Arise and day by day becoming  dangerous Naxalism , thousands life lost in fighting with Islamic terrorist, Kashmir issue still open even after losing thousands of our soldiers, Infiltrated Bangladesi   killing our own brothers on our own soil, Rise of BJP on the name of 'Ram Mandir' and there forgetting the same after coming to power, Is BJP really nationalist or they just  pretend to do be so, more than 1000 riots, Pseudo secular policies of Congress, Population burst and more than that really high population growth rate in a particular religion, Our banking system , Our economics policies, their benefits and failures with time, Change in our societies and family system.  These are just few examples but there is a big list of chapter which should be added to our history books so our next generations can learn what we really did great to give them a better life and where we totally failed so they don't repeat those mistakes.
I see very very thin chances that it gonna ever happen and we will teach our history of Free and Democratic India to our generations because we know there are so many failures which we want to keep hiding and this hiding just kill a chance from us to learn from our past and and making our previous failures as weapon for future. It even look like all those Bollywood  romantic movies where A guy fight , beat , get hearted and win the girl and the Movie Ends. No one will ever know if he really kept all his promises made to that girl, does all his fighting  for her were worth it ?  In the same way we fought for a free and democratic nation,  we lost so many life of freedom fighters  for it , we got it but this missing history of these 60 years will not let us know If we really made the promise to those freedom fighter ? Being A Hindu I believe those great souls are still there .....do they still think "It was worth it ?"
